South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists – Abney Chapel

Commercial Construction Contractors completed a major two-phase renovation and upfit for Abney Chapel. The project included exterior improvements, roofing, extensive interior renovations, site drainage improvements, and accessibility upgrades.

Phase 1 – Roofing & Exterior Improvements

Scope of Work: Demolition and removal of the existing roof, installation of a new roofing system, and installation of new gutters and associated drainage components.

Phase 2 – Interior Upfit & Site Improvements

The second phase consisted of a complete upfit of the right side of the church.

Scope of Work: Renovation and construction of the fellowship hall, dressing rooms, women’s and men’s restrooms, food bank, storage room,hallways and rampd and classrooms; interior construction and finishes; drainage improvements and French drains; and construction of a large handicap-accessible deck and ramp at the rear of the church.

Result: The two-phase project was successfully completed over a 24-week construction schedule, providing Abney Chapel with a new roofing system, renovated and expanded interior spaces, improved drainage, and enhanced accessibility.
